The TATA Social Enterprise Challenge, is a joint initiative by the TATA group and the Indian Institute of Management Calcuta (IM Calcuta), a national level chalenge to find India’s most promising social enterprises. Also aimed at raising awarenes about Social Entrepreneurship, TATA Social Enterprise Challenge aims to encourage the youth to step up to be the nextgeneration of social entrepreneurs. The event is the largest of its kind in India.
As an official Ecosystem Partner, the German Indian Startup Exchange Program (GINSEP) invited German Social/ Impact Startups for participation in the Tata Social Enterprise Chalenge Bootcamp and Finals from 9th to12th January 2019in Kolkata.
How can you benefit?
You are running a social business in Germany / Europe and want to gain deeper insights into how your business model can be applied to the Indian market. You want to gain exposure/ visibility in the social business ecosystem in India and potentially find partners to work with. You want to network with impact investors and other highly relevant institutional partners (e.g. TATA). Winning participants also receive an incubation opportunity at the IM Calcuta Innovation Park.
Who is eligible?
The business plan contest invites social entrepreneurs who have an early stage venture (not older than three years, non-or for-profit) or a promising idea with a plan that could create sustainable social impact in India. The venture needs to have an existing product or at least a proof-of-concept. Business plans for the competition will be invited for all sectors including the following focus areas: Agriculture, Food and Diary, Healthcare, Water and Sanitation, Technology and Development, Education, Housing, Handicraft, Energy Microfinance or Financial Inclusion.
