Murali Nair is responsible for Indo-German relationship at the Bertelsmann Stiftung where he publishes studies on economic and socio-political developments in India and engages with stakeholders to analyse its impact on Germany.
A management graduate with an engineering background, Murali worked in the automobile industry across Asia and Africa with Asian, European and American multinationals before taking a sabbatical to support social entrepreneurship in India. Public policy studies and research brought him to Germany in 2010 where he researched and taught on corporate social responsibility and transcultural management. He was the first runner up at IBM’s The Great Mind challenge India in 2003, and recipient of Novartis Foundation for Sustainable Development’s research grant in 2012.
