Bulent Altan last served as the VP of Satellite Mission assurance for the newly formed satellite mega-constellation project at SpaceX until September 2017. He joined the newly formed SpaceX in 2004 after graduating from Stanford University with a Masters in Aeronautics and Astronautics and earning his Bachelors and Masters from the Technical University of Munich in Computer Science. His contributions were critical in the growth of SpaceX avionics department from seven people to 210, and he was quickly promoted to Vice President of the Avionics Department. During his employment with SpaceX, Bulent has supported the development of Falcon-I, Falcon-9, Dragon and now the satellite mega-constellation as one of the main systems engineers and has led and architected the development of the avionics system of each of these vehicles while overseeing also the development of guidance, navigation and control, firmware and software developments of these projects.

Bulent left SpaceX from 2014 to 2016 to support the start-up ecosystem and aerospace industry in Europe, during which period he held positions as a founding partner and technical mentor at the Munich area industrial start-up accelerator TechFounders. During this period he led the technical selection of three batches of start-ups to match with industrial corporations and saw the completion of their joint projects. Overall from the 26 start-ups he has selected all have been successful and have higher evaluations today. He then moved on to the position of Vice President and Head of Digital Transformation and Innovation at Airbus Defence and Space.

Through his involvement with many start-ups as a coach, board member and advisor, the multinational corporation structure at Airbus and the amazing growth at SpaceX, Bulent has gathered a multitude of engineering as well as leadership experiences critical for any start-up today that wants to succeed and grow at a very healthy pace while not letting the targeted fast growth stifle the innovative spirit and execution pace of the team.
